Good Morning !!!

So much to write, so little time… Horatius Bonar long ago wrote these words: “I looked for the church…I found it in the world. I looked for the world, I found it in the church.” He then referenced Amos 6 “ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock”

The Most Zealous One, Saul / Paul one of the Apostles wrote: “As one in childbirth, I long to see Christ formed in you.” and in Ephesians 3:17-19: “I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

One wonders how the People of God got so far from who God called them to be ? How did God’s People become so unlike Him ?
So indifferent to becoming His Precious Possession ? Characterized by bold, impudent behaviors ?

1 . Some say because we have lost sight of Who He is and What He has done.

2. Some say because we have taken for granted our position as those chosen from before the foundation of the world.

3. Some say because we have made people familiar with the Words, but we have neglected the ‘weightier’ things of God’s Kingdom.

I say, all of the above. We have concentrated on making religious converts and failed to enlist them into Transforming Discipleship. “Although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to reteach you the basic principles of God’s word. You need milk, not solid food!” Hebrews 5:12

We have become satisfied with our powerlessness and our shallowness. We no longer believe God Really Said that “we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” ….We are comfortable, fat and lazy in our pursuit of to grasp more of what God has promised.
